Bad Rock Volunteer Fire Department

This is my dad’s volunteer fire department. They just finished the building of their beautiful new hall and Jeremiah and I decided they needed a group picture to go along with it! Since it’s Winter and crazy cold and the sun goes down at noon (well not really, but 4ish and that’s noon to me), out came the external lights! Jeremiah loves this stuff, I need to learn more about it!! It was so bitterly cold and extremely windy and the siren lights were setting off our wireless triggers on the strobe. We were a sight. Standing out in front of Engine 18, pitch black except the flashing lights and our strobe going bizerk. The wind was so strong I wasn’t strong enough to hold the 60″ umbrella and at one point the light stand fell over. Whatever, we got the shots! YAY!

Meet this gorgeous couple, Julia and Jon!! When I met them for coffee back in October we instantly clicked….actually we instantly clicked over emailing when we started obsessing over Pinterest! Anyways, Julia and Jon are AWESOME!!! I can’t wait for their wedding this Summer on Flathead Lake! They wanted their engagement pictures to be completely different from what their wedding photos will be like, summery, on the lake, pretty, cute…you know how a wedding is. So engagement pictures in winter, downtown whitefish, with the not-so-pretty backdrops of alleys and what not.

Ok, I have to start this blog post with a confession. I’ve been slightly obsessed with Amber and Daniel’s relationship…for about 6 years now. When they started dating. In high school. When we were all in choir together. Choir Geeks Unite! Anyways…I think I checked Amber’s facebook like a total stalker a couple times a year to see if they were engaged YET! Then the glorious day when the heavens opened up and Daniel FINALLY proposed in Glacier Park. I was freakin’ ecstatic when Amber emailed me about their wedding photography. It was so lovely seeing them again, all cute and in love. We had a random (for Montana in December) GORGEOUS day in the park! Sunshine and a little bit of snow, just warmish enough to not have to wear coats. Hey, we’re hard core Montana kids, we dont’ need no stinkin’ coats! Oh who am I kidding, I was still very bundled up! I’m already excited for their wedding next August, just so I can photograph their loveliness once more!
Amber and Daniel, I had such a blast with you two!! You’re so cute and in love, which makes for perfect pictures. It’s such an honor to document such an exciting time in your life!

Ohhhhhh, little brother is getting married! To one of the most beautiful girls I know, Nicole I think she looks like Rachel McAdams I can’t wait to be part of their day AND photograph it next Summer…..and when they start having babies cause then I’ll have cute little red headed nieces and nephews, yay!!! Anyways, back on subject. I’m posting WAY too many pictures cause I couldn’t possibly narrow it down anymore. We froze our butts off in the rain in downtown Missoula, caught the last ride on the carousel (I don’t recommend sitting backwards on a carousel and taking pictures, motion sick!), and ended with Chinese food. Then the four of us made our way home where my mom cried cause her children and their significant others were finally home.
My brother can’t take a serious picture to save his life. Especially when it’s ME photographing him!

This is Shelby. “She has sandy blonde hair and a pretty good lookin face.” hehe! Anyways, this gorgeous girl is a senior at Whitefish High School and basically we froze, she rocked it, and it’s never been so difficult for me to narrow down the pictures before!!! Her eyes are incredible and with the gloomy cloudy day we had, her eyes and colorful outfits really stood out, LOVE!! Thank you Shelby for being amazing and putting up with the cold, it was so worth it!

Awwwww, Ashley! I love love loved this session! We met at my grandma’s property, cause it’s my favorite place to shoot, and because Ashley was bringing her Golden Retreiver, Teddy!!!!! He was extremely hyper and overly friendly and I fell in love with him instantly. EEEEEEK! My favorite kind of dog….and if any of my family happens to be reading this, I’ll take one for Christmas thankyouverymuch. Anyways, Ashley was so incredible the entire time! I loved the outfits she choose and how she was up for anything I threw her way! We did freeze our butts off, but that’s Montana I guess, and you’d never be able to tell from her gorgeous smile!

Danielle {Senior} ::Glacier High School::

Ohhhh my goodness! This super cute girl is Danielle and she’s a senior at Glacier. I like how I start these blog posts stating the obvious…there’s a reason I’m a photographer and NOT a writer!! Anyways, like I said before, she’s so incredibly sweet and beautiful and we had so much fun hanging out in Apgar Village on Lake McDonald in Glacier Park!! Her and her dad spent a lot of time together as she was growing up in the Park, I’m so happy she picked it for her location! It felt so desserted up there this time of year, but it was so “magical”! The fall colors everywhere and we watched the sunset on the lake, breathtaking!!! Lake McDonald is definitely one of my most favorite places EVER. Danielle was such a trooper putting up with the cold and never once complaining about it….I did enough complaining for the both of us! lol! Her parents came along, WHICH I LOVE and even brought their RV so we could warm up- THANK YOU!!!!!

Connor & Maxl {Seniors} ::Whitefish High School::

Connor and Maxl are the funniest guys I’ve ever met!!! I was laughing the entire time. I seriously had tears in my eyes half the time from laughing so hard. They’ve been best friends forever and it was so cool to see two guys have their senior portraits done together! We started at Connor’s house in the amazing yard and then ventured off the Maxl’s Grandpa’s house on the lake for some more amazing locations. These two football studs were so charming and actually into having their picture taken which makes my job so much fun!!! Maxl also brought along his girlfriend who you might recognize from one of my earlier sessions, the lovely Michela! Her and Maxl were also recently crowned Homecoming King and Queen. Oh yeah, that’s right. Anyways, on to the pictures. I do have to say that about half of my favorite pictures I can’t blog because they’re slightly inappropriate….hehehe

HOTTIE ALERT! I loved Amanda’s session! She’s so sweet and gorgeous, but totally ROCKED the camera!!! I loved her outfit choices, and even though we froze our butts off we had a grand ol’ time wandering the streets!

Meet Lauren!! This cutie is a senior at Whitefish High School, and we had such a lovely time taking her senior portraits. I met her and her mom at their house and wandered around the streets, her backyard, down the road and in a marsh! I was super impressed with Lauren and her high heel wearing skills. This girl walked through a marsh for Heaven’s sakes in 3 inch heels!! I can hardly walk on solid ground in them. They were obviously worth it, she looked amazing and we had INCREDIBLE light that afternoon for pictures!
