This little bundle of joy came into Shanelle and Scott’s life about 6 weeks ago. Isn’t she perfect?! I was so excited to finally see her and photograph her last week, and had a wonderful time catching up with Shanelle! We’ve known each other since 3rd grade, but haven’t seen each other since graduation 5 years ago!! Geez, time flies fast. In that time she’s been married and now with their first child, the gorgeous Sienna. Oh yes, and Sawyer  the dog (the actual first child, hehe).  Thank you Scott and Shanelle for letting my capture your beautiful little girl. You 4 are adorable :)

This family is beautiful and when I think about them I get warm fuzzies.  I spent some time talking with Amber before our shoot and when she described her family she used these words.  ” outdoors, nature, old barns, rustic, bohemian, artistic, feathers (our son is native american), wild flowers, bare feet, old wagons, love the random piece of furniture in the middle of a field, cool old quilts, and we love the Lord.”

Yeah, no doubt we’d get along!

Dad’s are the best! Especially when they do this! Pure joy on his cute little face! That cute pink dress Paeden is wearing is one my mom made and sold at Farmer’s Market!!

I love this. Daddy and Daughter reading the Bible together. Warms my heart

Phil and Amber, you are a stunning couple with hearts of gold!!!  Thank you for letting me document your family’s love for each other :)

Oy!! How do I even start this blog? Like that?? Ok, here goes. Summer is full swing. I love it. I’ve been craving this madness for months- no, years now.  I’ve been busy, and with what I love, so I’m a happy camper.  I have so much to show you all, but editing is still in the works so until it’s all ready to go, here’s some previews of what’s coming!!

Summer in Montana is a funny thing. All June it felt like a California Winter with little blurps of what kind of felt like Summer.  I think it’s here to stay now…YAY!! My camera has been permanently glued to my hand and I have about a million pictures to go through!  This is a very random blog post. Hmmm what’s been going on in my life lately. Softball games, mosquito bites, weddings galore, sunsets, iced tea, making forts, camping, sun burn, fireworks, good music….I love Summer.

First session coming: My cousins and their family from California.   Madison (on the right) ‘was puttin’ out the vibe’…Dumb and Dumber.

2nd session: The gorgeous Caroline & Abby senior portraits.

3rd Session: The Adorable Matson Family!

On the 4th of July, my Uncle Ron and Jill decided to forget the wedding they were planning and just get-er-done! They were married in my grandparents back yard underneath our “Family Tree”. I can’t wait to show you more pictures, Jill!!

And last but not least, last night, I had the honor to photograph another photographer!! The lovely Jaimie Nelson, of Imagery. She rocks.  She also took my pictures and I’m so excited to see them!

Gary & Linda {50 years together}

50 years together. Not many people can say that these days.  Gary and Linda will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this Summer, and it was such an honor to photograph their love.  As you can see from the pictures, these two are ADORABLE and just as much in love today as they were on their wedding day. I love that.  My own grandparents also just celebrated their 50th and my parents 25th. I’m a firm believer in true love, and that love lasts.

“Three things will last forever–faith, hope, and love–and the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13

This past week I drove down and over (about 8 hours) to Billings to pick up my friend Kenzie. She just got home from a 4 month stay in Italy for school and flew into Billings. So Emma and I took the perfect opportunity for a quick little road trip!  It was such a gorgeous day! Any day the sun comes out is a good day when you’ve had Winter for more than 8 months…yucky.  We enjoyed the drive down, reading stories out loud and singing our hearts out, and the growing anticipation that I was about to see one of my best friends after so long.  This past January I went to Big Sky, MT for a photography workshop and made some amazing friends, and my bed mate Jacque lives in Billings. She is so sweet to let Emma and I crash at her place. I’m bummed our trip was just for one night, it would have been fun to keep hanging out, but I guess the late night hot tubbin’ and chit chatting will have to work for now! The next day we did a photo swap. As photographers we realize how awkward and intimidating it is to be on the other side of the camera, and we rarely get the chance to have our own picture taken! Seriously, I think the last time I had my picture taken professionally I was 13…and I’m a photographer!!! That’s not ok. Jacque said she felt awkward, but I don’t think so. She’s a natural in front of the camera…obviously, just take a look at how fabulous she looks!

Jacque, it was so much fun to hang out with you again, I hope to see you again soon!!

Jacque’s beautiful baby boy, Baer!!

Emma actually took that picture of Baer…she was entertaining him with my camera while Jacque was photographing me. It’s way too cute not to share!! Thanks Emma!!

I’m so in love with the beautiful baby girl! My dear friends Nick and Megan are so blessed :) I’ve known Nick for twelve years…WOW, when did we grow up?! I was so bummed to miss his wedding to the gorgeous Megan last Summer, but I guess photographing their first born child makes up for it! ;)   This little girl came two weeks earlier than expected and daddy wasn’t even home when mommy went into labor.  The whole day felt like a movie for all of us, I can’t even image what was going through their heads! Nick was in Denver training for his job when he got the call that morning that Megan was in labor.  By the grace of God, Nick came running through the hospital room door right when she started pushing!!!! We took two days to photograph her. The first day she was only 4 days old and WIDE awake!  I don’t blame her though, there was a lot going on and mommy and daddy couldn’t get enough of her. I wanted to cry when Nick was loving all over her and beaming with joy.  Two days later and she was nice and sleepy for me so we got some adorable shots of her :)
